    Why are we not funding this?

    Basicly, this guy built robots that are able to "jam". That can limited "feelings". An interesting sentry indeed, why are we not funding things like this? I recollect this is pretty impressive.

    love robotics developments.. but on the other hand information technology genuinely TERRIFIES me that the CB2 robot learnt to walk on its own. That thing is freaky as hell. That's how Chucky-esque horror films are born.

    We're not funding a lot of things. What makes this special above others? There are plenty of wonderful technologies with more practical uses than the one in this video and none of them go any. There'south only so much money governments put into science and if you gave them all a slice then none would receive a useful amount. If yous want to fund it personally I'm sure you lot can make a donation.

    Judging from your fast replies, I assume you didn't even watch the whole affair (not even the showtime 3 minutes I can safely assume). The things those robots are capable of doing are highly marketable and somewhat useful. I'd like to have a desk-bound lamp that is capable of showing me the pencil when I forget where I put it. And I'm sure I can observe many people that thinks in a like way.

    They don't take feelings though and aren't even on the same level as insects intellectually. It'south just a program, bobbing movements etc. they just appear to people who interact with them that fashion while really the robot doesn't "enjoy" anything and doesn't understand why information technology'south doing what it's doing. It's only programmed to discover a way to fulfill it's goal.. for case become a certain reaction from the person information technology's interacting with.
